Meet Our Creator, Potter & Teacher

Jenna Catchpole (née Thompson)

Hi, I’m Jenna, a Brisbane-based potter, teacher, and legacy maker.

I create thoughtful, meaningful ceramic work that honours connection, memory, and the stories we carry, both in life and beyond it. I am also a wife, a proud mum to two beloved fur children, and a bereaved daughter, and each of these roles shapes the way I approach clay, creativity, and teaching.

Pottery runs deep in my story. In 2020, I lost my mum, an incredibly talented potter, to cancer. Her passing changed me profoundly and sparked a deep curiosity about death, legacy, and how we honour those we love after they are gone. In searching for ways to stay connected to her, I returned to clay, not just as an art form, but as a language of remembrance.

Alongside my studio practice, I am deeply passionate about teaching pottery. Whether guiding beginners or nurturing more experienced makers, I believe clay is a powerful teacher that invites presence, patience, and connection. In both my teaching and my legacy work, my goal is the same, to create spaces where people feel supported, grounded, and free to create with intention.

My work is about more than pottery. It is about legacy, holding space for grief and beauty to coexist, and creating objects that carry meaning and can be cherished for generations.

Thank you for being here. I look forward to hearing from you.
